For many thousands of years, massage has been
used instinctively for healing the body and mind; as such, it
is probably the oldest form of medical treatment.
The
holistic approach treats the whole person, integrating the energies
of the body, mind and sprit. A variety of techniques and strokes
are used enabling you to feel deeply relaxed and producing a feeling
of well-being.
By
relaxing the body, massage can relieve soreness and tension. Taunt
painful muscles can be loosened and relaxed and the circulation
of blood and lymph stimulated. This results in the removal of
toxins from the body and the eventual restoration of balanced
tone in the muscles and greater freedom of movement in the joints.
A
massage may relieve specific pain such as back pain, neck and
shoulder aches and headaches. People who have high blood pressure,
difficulty sleeping, depression and arthritis may also benefit.
The
effects of massage tend to be accumulative. One massage may produce
an improvement but it may only last a short time; the more regular
the treatments, the longer the effects appear to last. |
